No matter the holiday, vacation, getaway, camping trip – these are the Homeopathic remedies you need to take with you!
Why should you take homeopathy with you on your next trip?
Homeopathic Remedies travel well: they are lightweight, not liquid, and versatile.
Homeopathic Remedies are safe, won’t cause side effects, and are easy to take when on the go.
Homeopathic Remedies cover many conditions most OTC products do not.
What homeopathic remedies should I take with me on my next trip?
Before you go, it’s always a good idea to take inventory of what remedies you may need on your travels. Here’s what I think about before packing my bags:
What ailments have interrupted trips in the past?
What remedies do I use regularly at home?
Think: cold and flu, common aches and pains remedies, your chronic remedy. As you use Homeopathy more and more, you'll build up a repertoire of remedies that support you best.
What will I be doing?
Hiking? Think Rhus-tox, Arnica, Bryonia, Ruta
Boating? Cruise ship? Cocculus for motion sickness
All-inclusive? Nux-vomica…and maybe Arsenicum album
What is the climate like?
Much like packing your clothes – every vacation (and every person) calls for different remedies, but there’s a few I never travel without!
6 Homeopathic Remedies I Never Travel Without
Arnica: Bumps, bruises, pain, trauma, concussions, falls, "I-didn't-know-those-muscles-existed" pain, AND jet lag! Arnica helps the body recover from trauma, especially those that feel bruising, sore, and tender. It’s also great for jet lag: two pellets in my water bottle before flying and sip it till your arrive and your body regulates.
Nux Vomica: for overindulgence, hangovers, too much all-you-can-eat, not enough sleep, too much partying, too much work. Nux covers most issues that originate in over-indulgence; from headaches, sleepiness, colds, nausea, constipation/diarrhea, heartburn.
Aconite: The remedy you never expect to need. As Arnica is to trauma, Aconite is to fright. For unexpected fearful events such as: bad plane turbulence, car accidents, being robbed, losing a member of your group, natural disasters, even just witnessing a frightening event. Aconite helps the body and mind process and recover from frightful experiences. Can also support colds, fear of heights and flying, and shock after an injury.
Arsenicum Album: Nothing worse than being stuck on the toilet your whole vacation; Arsenicum is the best remedy for food poisoning. Lots of burning, diarrhea, vomiting, restlessness. Thirst for small sips of water will be a good sign, but in a pinch, when you’re not sure if it’s leaving your mouth or your bum, grab Arsenicum.
Mag Phos Tissue Salt: Anti-spasmodic, pain reliever. Great for headaches, menstrual cramps, leg cramps, tight muscles, stomach aches, ear aches, toothaches, and any sort of cramping, shooting, sharp pains. Check out more about Mag Phos here.
While those are in my “never forget” kit, my “typically packed kit” would also include:
Rhus-tox: sprains, strains, joint stiffness, and poison ivy
Bryonia: for injuries, colds, and flu
Gelsemium: for flu and heatstroke
Belladonna: for heatstroke, sunburns, fever, ear infections
Ledum: for bug bites, puncture wounds
Apis Mellifera: for bee stings (and other insect bites) and some injuries with lots of inflammation.
