A Dose of Intention: Rethinking our approach to travel and health while away

November 9, 2018

*Guest blog by Libby Jeffrey*

You have annual leave to use, but maybe not enough time to go as far away as you want. Or, maybe, you have lots of time off, but not the means to go as far away as you want. Or, how about you don’t actually want to go far away?

I love travel. I love to travel. To talk about it, to promote it, to see someone feel like they are on the move, even when they’re staying in their own city.

However: just as money is only one ingredient to enjoying a vacation, a pinch (or pint!) of time is another ingredient. These are the default variables when considering a trip. If you have the time and the money, why not go?

And then you go.

And then you come home. And you’re back where you started. But is that what you were looking for in the first place?

What if, when planning a trip, we add a few more ingredients to the more conventional “time and money” recipe: a teaspoon of purpose. A curveball. A new habit. A eureka moment. A struggle.

Where could you return to?

Why does this matter and what does it have to do with homeopathy?

You might have read Paula’s blog post about shifting from judgment to curiosity. Oftentimes, trips are focussed on observing another place, meeting new people, letting your friends at home know what the country is all about, and coming home.

By taking a good look at what we want out of a trip, and asking some deeper questions, we can have a better sense of why we want to go on vacation, as well as what we’re hoping to get out of it.

Just as consulting with a homeopath fosters self awareness, we can use the same skillset to find the right mix of experiences on a vacation that encourages learning about the host community.

“Every time I’m on the opposite side of the world (this time, New Zealand), my guts get messed up to no end. The worst is that my heart wants to stay for months, yet the rest of my body cannot co-operate. I called Paula on a Skype consultation, and picked up remedies locally: I was surprised how easy they were to find! Within 5 days, my symptoms were manageable and my heart could take over the trip planning once again. The best was that I had a much better awareness of what my body was going through, which turned out to be essential once I got to China.”

"Case in point, as soon as I arrived in Prague our first stop in Europe this time, I could tell that a stye was beginning in my left eye. Not since my youth had I had one! My homeopathy kit held the one tool I needed to ward off a long infection and help me move swiftly and with confidence through it."

Join us on November 17th to set some intentions for a future holiday, and then learn about how to become a DIY Homeo-Traveller with Paula’s custom health kit.
